  1. I became a fan when in 1971 my Mom brought me home an Arsenal shirt from her trip to England. I have supported them ever since, and can't think of any other team to support. I was able to see them live for the first time in 1979 away to Brighton. I love the club, i have been in pubs at 8:30 am to watch them win/lose or draw. I have watched FA cup finals on tape delay. I can't support any other team, and i am glad that I am able to go over once a season with my highly addicted wife. Arsenal is my club, and I am proud to be a member of the goner family.

  3. I've been an Arsenal fan since around 06. I've never seen them win a trophy. But that's never kept me from supporting them. My elder brother, my dad and maternal uncle are all United fans. But I've never drawn the same pleasure from watching a United game as I have from an Arsenal game. The beautiful fluid passing play. The potential that's there. Those breathtaking moments that define our season such as the second leg against Bayern. The unpredictable nature of their play. That's why I love Arsenal. Over the years I've watched previous season, ones I've missed. I've watched classic matches. I fight for my club at home. I fight for my club at school. Arsenal is my love.

  4. for those of us who can't listen to this; can anyone summarize what was said about Juan Mata?

Also, how good a source is this? just speculation like most others?

    1. Arsenal were negotiating with Mata but then he renewed and his buy-out clause increased. He wanted to stay with Valencia at the time anyway but his dad/agent wanted to sell him to the club that offered the most wages. Chelsea paid the buy-out clause, Arsenal didn't both and they offered more wages anyway. Valencia sold him because there was a clause in his contract that decreased his buy-out clause every year. That was because of his father.

Source: Me, I'm a Valencia fan and he was our star player at the time so obviously I followed this very closely.

    2. thanks for the reply!

what you say, goes against what Guillem Balague said though. He said that arsenal were going to bid for Mata's first buy-out clause but didn't because they had not yet sold cesc nor nasri.
by the time we did sell one of them, mata's clause had been raised to a level we couldn't afford

  6. Just a question. Although I agree that modern day footballers want to be connected with success and so on. And I don't really understand that, because I'm ambitious and I want to do it for the small man and make him big. That's how I think.
But do you guys think that a player shouldn't reject the club but the club can reject a player? This comes mainly from the Llorente sage with Athletic Bilbao. The fans are hating on him because he didn't want to renew, which basically means he rejected the club. But when and other club reject a player it's alright. And I don't really know what to make of it. I do think that's wrong and obviously it's annoying for the fans if that's happens but the still allow the player right.
